After electrifying performances at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte and the North Carolina Museum of History in Raleigh, the series grand finale of the Moonshine and Motorsports Concert Series will take place on March 29 at 7 p.m. at the Museum of the Albemarle in Elizabeth City. Performances from Madison County ballad singers Sheila Kay Adams’s Nest of Singing Birds, Americana legend Jim Lauderdale, and crackerjack bluegrass group the Kruger Brothers (the latter two the performers of “Mountain Dew” in this reel) will made for a night to remember. As the Moonshine and Motorsports Trail explores the history of rum-running in North Carolina, it’s fitting that this finale will take place in Albermarle Sound. The place has a long history with bootlegging stretching from the early 1700s through Prohibition all the way to the present day, and the Museum of the Albermarle is an important part of the M&M Trail.
