We’re getting so excited for Come Hear NC Music Day on June 21, and especially to see all the performances you share with us using the #CHNCMusicDay hashtag! This clip of young Traditional Arts Programs for Students participants (TAPS) bubbles over with the same everyday exuberance we know your CHNC Music Day posts will! The day is a celebration of music as a part of everyday life in North Carolina, and we’re psyched to share it with you! The TAPS program (Traditional Arts Programs for Students) funds after-school programs, pairing students with traditional artists, nurturing cross-generational learning and cultural preservation of NC musical traditions. In this clip, Newfound Gap, a group of siblings, run their way through “Blue Moon of Kentucky” for an audience of the seated and dancing at the Executive Mansion. The youth in Newfound Gap all participated in TAPS initiatives in Buncome and Haywood Counties.
